Expansion am Salzsee
Expansion at Salt Lake City When the final stretch of track in the first trans- continental railroad was laid north of the Great Salt Lake in 1869, it marked a new era for transport in the United States. And Salt Lake City has since evolved into a key logistics crossroads. Gebrüder Weiss is now tapping into this and acquiring the sea and air freight for- warder Cargo-Link, which is based very near the Salt Lake City International Airport. The airport numbers among the busiest transport hubs in the western United States and serves as a major junction for goods moving across the Pacific and Atlantic. At the same time, the port authority Utah Inland Port is enlarging its facilities, further cementing the city’s status as a key logistics venue. Gebrüder Weiss has maintained its own subsidiary in the United States since 2017. With the acquisition in Salt Lake City, it is now ex- panding its national network to 14 locations.

Der Flughafen zählt zu den verkehrsreichsten Knotenpunkten im Westen der USA und ist ein wichtiges Drehkreuz für transpazifische und transatlantische Warenströme. Zudem erweitert die Hafenbehörde des Utah Inland Port derzeit ihr Hafengebiet, was die Position der Stadt als bedeutenden Logistikstandort weiter stärkt.
