Mensch und Maschine Roboter sind längst keine Science-Fiction-Kre aturen mehr. Sie helfen im Haushalt, montieren Autos, unterstützen Ärztinnen und Ärzte bei Operationen oder muntern Pflegebedürftige auf. Das Potenzial der Robotik ist groß, ebenso wie das von jungen Menschen. Beides zeigt sich jedes Jahr eindrucksvoll beim RoboCup Junior, einem internationalen Robotikwettbe werb, bei dem Jugendliche mit selbst entwi ckelten Robotern in verschiedenen Disziplinen antreten. Dieses Jahr sichert sich das von Gebrüder Weiss Kroatien unterstützte Team den ersten Platz in der Kategorie „Rescue Maze“. Dabei durchqueren autonome Roboter ein komplexes Labyrinth und bergen (simu lierte) Personen in Not. Diese Aufgabe meistert der Rettungsroboter der Geschwister Dijanić am besten – sehr zur Freude von Gebrüder Weiss. Der Logistiker unterstützt die beiden bereits seit 2016 und sieht in ihnen Botschafter für die eigene „Best of Both Worlds“-Strategie: Menschliches Können und künstliche Intelli genz sind eine gute Kombination, um sich als Unternehmen zukunftsfähig aufzustellen. Der RoboCup Junior gilt als eines der wichtigsten Nachwuchsevents im Bereich Robotik und künstliche Intelligenz und fand 2024 an der Technischen Universität Eindhoven in den Niederlanden statt. Rund 3000 junge Menschen aus 45 Ländern nahmen daran teil. Führen will gelernt sein Erfolgreiche Unternehmen brauchen starke, gut ausgebildete Führungskräfte. Sie schaffen ein Umfeld, das Innovation ermöglicht, strategische Ziele erreicht und Mitarbeitende langfristig mo tiviert. Deshalb setzt Gebrüder Weiss auf die konsequente Förderung dieser Schlüsselrollen und hat ein umfassendes Schulungsprogramm entwickelt. 2024 beginnt erneut der zweijährige Lehr gang OrangePro (Pro=Professional), der sich an internationale Führungskräfte des Konzerns richtet. In diesem Jahr absolvieren 12 Frauen und 30 Männer aus 13 Ländern den Lehr gang. Er unterstützt sie dabei, den nächsten Schritt in ihrer persönlichen und fachlichen Entwicklung zu gehen, und bereitet sie darauf vor, in höheren Managementfunktionen die Zukunft von Gebrüder Weiss professionell und vorausschauend mitzugestalten.
Man and machine Science fiction has long ceased to be the sole preserve of robots. Today, they help around the house, assemble cars, assist doctors during surgery and cheer up care-home residents. The potential for robotics is almost unlimited – rather like the potential of the young. Both are impressively showcased every year at the RoboCup Junior, an international robotics competition in which young people compete in various disciplines with robots they have built themselves. This year, the team supported by Gebrüder Weiss Croatia secures first place in the “Rescue Maze” category, in which autonomous robots search a complex labyrinth and rescue (simulated) people who can’t find their way out. The Dijanić siblings’ robot mas- ters this challenge most successfully – much to the delight of Gebrüder Weiss. The company has been nurturing them since 2016 and views them as ideal ambassadors for its own “Best of Both Worlds” philosophy: human and artificial intelligence make for the perfect combination when equipping a company for the future. Hosted in 2024 at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Net- herlands, RoboCup Junior is considered one of the most important youth competitions in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. Some 3,000 young people from 45 countries enter the event.
Learning to lead
Successful companies need well-trained leaders with strong skills. They create an envi- ronment that fosters innovation, helps attain strategic goals and motivates employees in the long term. For this reason, Gebrüder Weiss is committed to consistently promoting these key roles within its organization, and has developed a comprehensive training program to do so. 2024 sees a new start of the two-year OrangePro course. This year 12 women and 30 men from 13 countries will be attending. The course helps international managers within the company to master the next steps in their personal and professional evolution – so that they can ultimately take up senior management positions and devote their professional skills to guiding Gebrüder Weiss through the challenges of tomorrow.
