If you’re in Lauterach, in Austria’s Vorarlberg region, and a surprisingly quiet truck glides past, it may well be Fahrettin Öztürk at the wheel. Fahrettin has worked at Gebrüder Weiss for 35 years, and he’s delighted to be driving one of the new elec tric models. “The e-truck accelerates hard with no let-up – even if it’s got a heavy load,” he says. It shows how logistics can help raise living stan- dards, especially in cities. After all, less noise and fumes means better quality of life for everybody.
