Sustainability Report 2024

Standardized logistics processes With the rollout of the standardized oWMS warehouse man- agement system at all logistics locations worldwide, Gebrüder Weiss is setting new benchmarks in efficiency and quality. Thanks to digital and automated processes, customers benefit from greater transparency, quicker workflows and individual, customized service. A standardized solution enables sus- tainable optimization of the warehouse logistics – a key step toward enhanced process quality and customer orientation.

Digitalization and automation Gebrüder Weiss is taking advantage of the opportunities presented by digitalization and artificial intelligence to sustainably de - velop its products, services and processes. myGW – the digital customer portal Gebrüder Weiss is using digitalization to design service processes to be more efficient. The self-service customer portal myGW has been continuously developed and refined since it was introduced in 2020. One of the features it provides

allows customers to book and track shipments in real time, while an integrated chat platform enables focused communi- cation. Over 10,000 customers with almost 25,000 users are now using the customer portal. Internally, “myGW for Employ- ees” provides support to customer service staff.

AutoStore With the automated small parts storage and retrieval system AutoStore, Gebrüder Weiss is optimizing its warehouse space, efficiency and service quality. The system is currently used at the Budapest location. Plastic containers are automatically stored by robots and provided for picking – in a way that is quick, saves space and uses energy efficiently. The use of the system will be trialled at other locations. Cargometer The digital freight dimensioning system Cargometer calculates the dimensions of packages while vehicles are being loaded and unloaded. This creates a foundation for improved truck ca- pacity utilization and route planning as well as accelerated pro- cessing. Moreover, empty cargo space can be avoided, which means in turn that environmental impacts can be reduced and costs can be saved. The system is currently in operation at 102 loading bays at 15 branches. Use of the system will continue to be expanded.
