Sustainability Report 2024

Protecting, promoting and respecting people

Gebrüder Weiss employs over 8,600 people at around 180 locations in 35 countries – connected through a wide variety of languages, skills and experience. As a family-run company, we believe in protecting and supporting our employees and respecting their rights as a matter of course. We offer fair working conditions, pay attention to health and safety, promote diversity and equal opportunity, facilitate further training and development and provide opportunities for internal development. This is how we strengthen our attrac- tiveness as an employer and secure the future of the company in the long term. Our management approach in the area of “People” is incorpo- rated in our general sustainability strategy. The basis for this is provided by the Gebrüder Weiss Code of Conduct, the core labor standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the principles of the UN Global Compact. The Corporate Administrative Support, Human Resources Development, Controlling and Legal divisions are responsible for implementing these – with the clear task of fulfilling all requirements relating to labor law, tax and human rights. We review the effectiveness of our approach on an ongoing basis – for instance by using the Learning Monitor, which systematically records training activities. In addition, employee surveys and feedback interviews provide important informa- tion on how we can further improve working conditions.
