Cooperation with educational institutions

Cooperation with Shanghai Maritime University Gebrüder Weiss promotes young academic talent in China in cooperation with the renowned Shanghai Maritime University (SMU). Students receive practical insights into logistics and are provided with support as they start out on their career. The focus of the five-year cooperation program is knowledge transfer and career development – for example through sum- mer internships in the area of supply chain management as well as guest lectures and specialized courses offered by the company.

Germany: sponsorship partnership with the Deutsche Außenhandels- und Verkehrs - akademie (DAV) Gebrüder Weiss is involved as an active sponsoring partner at the Deutsche Außenhandels- und Verkehrsakademie (DAV – German Academy of Foreign Trade and Transport) in Bremen. The company introduces practical issues into the learning program and provides students with support as they write their term papers and dissertations. This opens up direct exchang- es with young people who already have work experience and are looking to broaden their knowledge of logistics – a target group that Gebrüder Weiss is keen to attract to join the company.

USA: promotion of young, socially committed talent

Gebrüder Weiss is also dedicated to encouraging young talent in the USA and has donated to Humanity Rising to support the organization. This has included a scholarship for a student who has distinguished themselves by showing outstanding commitment in social projects. With this support, Gebrüder Weiss is empowering young people on their path to taking up responsible roles in the future.
