How does Gebrüder Weiss protect the health and safety of its employees?
Managing and improving occupational health and safety throughout the Group The health and safety of employees is a high priority at Gebrüder Weiss. Beyond the legal requirements, we pursue the goal of continuously developing our safety standards throughout the entire company. Our occupational health and safety goals are clearly defined: to prevent accidents, promote health, comply with legal requirements and create a proactive safety culture. A safe and secure working environment is a benefit not just for our employees – it also strengthens the stability and performance of the whole company. Gebrüder Weiss works with a Group-wide integrated manage- ment system that is based on internationally recognized stan- dards – including ISO 9001 (Quality management), ISO 14001 (Environmental management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational health and safety). A central management handbook lays down binding workflows and responsibilities for all locations. Local HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) officers implement these specifications on site and receive support in this process from central specialist departments. Regular risk assessments, internal and external audits and “safety walks” play their role in identifying and minimizing hazards at an early stage. Moreover, we promote awareness surrounding safe work by conducting training programs geared toward specific target groups. These provide employees with support in identifying risks early and implementing safe working practices in their daily routines.
