General conditions for climate-friendly logistics Not all the requirements for reaching our climate targets lie within the control of Gebrüder Weiss. Stable political and infra- structure conditions are required for low-emission technologies to catch on and gain widespread acceptance. These include the expansion of reliable charging and filling station infrastructure for electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles as well as international standards governing sustainable fuels. Effective state subsidy programs – especially for alternative drive systems and charging infrastructure – will play a key role. Another crucial factor is how CO 2 taxes will be structured in the future. These can have a major influence on how quickly low-emission technologies will become economically attractive and thus usable on a large scale. A common path forward to a sustainable future The climate protection targets of Gebrüder Weiss can be achieved only through concerted action. The initiative of all employees is called on – as is that of our partner companies, freight forwarders and other business partners.
