How we save energy and reduce emissions The responsible use of energy and the reduction of emissions are key issues for Gebrüder Weiss and its environmental sus- tainability strategy. Both our own locations and our transport services and processes are involved here. In order to manage these issues, Gebrüder Weiss has defined clear targets based on the criteria of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The basis of the definition of these targets is provided by the CO 2 inventory for recording green- house gas emissions. The CO 2 inventory is prepared for the entire Group on the basis of the GHG Protocol and in accor - dance with national and international laws. Within the compa- ny, 68 employees are responsible as central or local officers for environmental topics such as energy and emissions. The effectiveness of the measures is constantly evaluated. To this end, qualitative and quantitative key performance indica- tors on environmental sustainability are recorded and commu- nicated to the Management Board, the Supervisory Board and external stakeholders.
