Photovoltaic systems on the buildings Gebrüder Weiss started installing photovoltaic (PV) systems on the roofs of its logistics terminals several years ago. In 2024, the number of PV systems installed in the DACH region and in Eastern Europe grew from 27 to 34. The systems have generated 12,699 megawatt-hours of electricity. That is equivalent to around half of the electricity requirement of all Gebrüder Weiss locations worldwide.
Gebrüder Weiss wind farm
Gebrüder Weiss has operated its own wind farm in northern Germany since 2011. It generated a total of 12,941 MWh of electricity in 2024, which was fed into the German electricity grid. This roughly corresponds to the annual consumption of 3,235 three-person households. Generation in 2023 was nine percent lower than average, as there was less wind. This figure deteriorated again in 2024, which saw a 20 percent reduction.
