GRI 2-12, 2-13, 2-14 The Supervisory Board and the Management Board of Geb- rüder Weiss bear the overall responsibility for monitoring and managing the company’s material impacts on the environment, people and the economy. Sustainability is anchored as a core strategic topic in the company and is regularly discussed at the meetings of the Supervisory Board. (See www.gw-world.com/ company/about-us/mission ). The monitoring is structured within the framework of the regular meetings, at which reports on key environmental figures, social indicators (e.g. occupational safety, diversity, human rights in the supply chain) and regu- latory developments are presented. Furthermore, deviations from sustainability targets, risks and opportunities as well as the effectiveness of actions taken are analyzed. Operational imple- mentation is the task of the sustainability officer, who reports directly to the Management Board. This is in turn accountable to the Supervisory Board and provides regular explanations on the integration of sustainability aspects in the business strategy. The sustainability officer heads the central sustainability team, which works together with the Environmental Management, Purchasing, Human Resources, Risk Management and Compliance units on a cross-divisional basis. The sustainabil- ity strategy is implemented using specific action plans in the business divisions. Annual target agreements made with the divisional management teams ensure that sustainability targets are integrated as binding elements in the operating business. Accountability is ensured by an internal ESG (environmental, social and governance) report, which is prepared and reviewed on a regular basis by the sustainability officer and which is also approved by the Management Board.
